We spent hours looking for a restaurant that evening, only to discover it was closed for renovation. So, we ate al fresco in a so-so restaurant, but one that had a lovely view of Trajan's column and the ruins of Trajan's market in the moonlight. I love the look of Rome - - everything is built in similar lovely styles, painted in warm shades from gold to rose, and on a human-scale. No soul-less skyscrapers or ugly glass towers. Really beautiful. BUT the traffic is awful and walking treacherous, so I really had to watch where I was going.
