Florence – American War Memorial

I’d never heard of this place and found it very interesting. There are hundreds of graves of men who died in Italy, the emblems of the military units that fought here, and a map made of marble showing where the Allied landed and moved up the Italian peninsula. Dad’s 10^th Mountain Division emblem was one of those on the wall as were arrows showing where they fought.
