Rome - Coliseum, Palatine Hill, St Peters
I spent the day exploring Rome with Peggy and Sasha - - WAY too much for my poor ankle but we saw wonderful things - - the Roman Coliseum, Palatine Hill (really liked that), Vatican museum (huge, amazing), Sistine Chapel (beautiful but way too crowded), and St Peter's (awesome). I was quite disappointed in the crowd around the Pieta - - nearly impossible to see it, much less enjoy its beauty. A bit of trivia - - one language option in Vatican city Bancomats is Latin! Sasha and I became separated from Peggy for two hours, but finally re-united with her at the bus stop. We were all so tired and foot-sore that Peggy and Sasha simply went to bed. I had drinks and a light dinner sitting in the lovely roof-top garden of the hotel next door. There was a spectacular view of the city; the ancient ruins were lit up and looked wonderful from above.

I love St. Peters- it would totally be worth it (well almost) to be catholic just so you could hang out there regularly!
