Ravenna is flat (unlike most of the places I’ve been on this trip) and exceptionally bike friendly. Right down the middle of the main drag is a section of smooth white pavers (for bikes) while foot traffic has to make do with old, uneven cobbles on each side. Bikes have the right of way, and there are a lot of them, so pedestrians have to beware. There are bright yellow bikes available free for tourists to take a spin around the city.
