I'm off

So I wouldn't have to leave davis at "0 dark hundred", I spent the night at the Hampton Inn near SFO and left my car there until my return - - not cheap but hundreds less than taking an airport shuttle.

The flight was fine - - long, uncomfortable, etc but fine.

I arrived in Rome on time at 9:30 am and had an easy time finding the train station at the airport, buying a ticket and traveling to Rome Termini. I felt like I was running a gauntlet of pickpockets intent on separating me from all of my money and technology. but it was uneventful. As advertised, the hotel was just a few blocks away so that part was easy.
